Episode 1
The magic land
In Sam and Dean ’s home, in the dungeon, where Sam stands after finishing Crowley’s summoning rituals. He’s now waiting for him to show up and as he does Crowley appears instantly in the place. Sam glances him angrily and says.
Sam
Why are you late?
Crowley “indifferently”
Dinner appointment. What do you want?
Sam
As if you don’t know?
Indifferently Crowley replies
no.
Sam
Crowley, I swear to God if you don’t fix what you’ve done I...
Crowley”interrupting”
What? What you’re gonna do exactly?
Sam
Dean is dead. He died because of you and you have to bring him back.
Crowley
Sorry, there’s nothing I could do. My condolences. May I leave now?
Sam
You’re not leaving anywhere, you bastard. You’re bringing him back now.
Crowley
And how is that ?
Sam
Don’t know. You’re the one that got him into this mess from the very beginning. Because of you he’s dead as we speak.
Crowley
OK then. Do we have a deal? To bring him back a deal has to be sealed. Without a deal nothing in handy I could offer you.
Sam
You’re a son of a bitch. You think you can weasel your way out of this?
Crowley
Listen, I bring your brother back after making a deal and then you both conspire against me as usual.
Sam
Oh, that’s exactly how it works.
Crowley
So now what? do you wanna have a deal?
Sam
Do I have any other option?
Crowley
Frankly, no. It’s a one year time deal, just like the one we gave your brother before. By the end of the year, I’ll be back for your soul.
Sam
What is that?
Crowley
The contract. If you wanna read it, take your time.
Sam signs on the contract paper that Crowley threw to him nervously without reading it then comments.
Just bring him.
Crowley
It’s up to you. I just wanted to guarantee you your rights. But as you wish.
Sam
I should have slammed the doors of hell with your ass crammed in, Crowley. You and me, we’re not done yet.
Crowley
Bite me. But make sure to make it quick, you have a one year time life span left.
In that moment, Dean enters the place. He stands just behind Sam and he’s bleeding badly. He leans against the wall and cries out for Sam.
Sam....
Sam turns around to find Dean horribly bleeding so he rushes towards him and cries.
Dean!! Dean...he’s bleeding.
Crowley quietly looks at the both of them then replies Sam.
Yes...I see. And you have only one hour before he dies again. Take him to the hospital. Maybe, you can save him.
Sam cries at Crowley angrily as he’s holding Dean’s body as the latter is leaning on him.
You bastard, you deceived me.
Crowley comments before vanishing into thin air.
Sam, I’ve already told you to read the terms before signing up but you refused. I revived him back but at the condition he experienced just an hour before his death. Now, hurry up and try to save him. See you around.
Crowley vanishes while Sam is still holding Dean trying to get him out of the place.
Dean I will take you to the hospital
Dean asks Sam and he’s hardly managing not to black out.
Sam, what did you do?
Sam answers as he’s taking Dean out to the hospital.
It’s alright. I’ll tell you later
In the hospital, where Sam is standing outside the surgery room waiting anxiously for the doctor to come out. And as the doctor does, Sam rushes towards him and asks nervously.
Doctor....how he’s doing?
The doctor replies
His injury was so critical. It crossed his whole body.
Then anxiously Sam asks.
But he’ll survive, won’t he?
The doctor
If he manages to pass the crucial stage, then yeah he’s gonna make it. But until then, you have to keep an eye on him. He has to get a recovery period; no movement, no emotional stress, no disturbances. And of course, he has to keep taking his medications.
Sam
Yeah of course, sure. Can I see him now?
The doctor
Yes, you can. But as I said, keep cautious.
Sam
Yeah, thank you.
Some time later, in the hospital; in Dean’s room, Sam is sitting by his side. A nurse enters the room and Sam asks him.
He’s still unconscious. Is that normal?
The nurse
It’s still early for him to wake, it’s better this way.
Sam
What am I supposed to do? Can I take him home?
The nurse
I’ve no idea. I think it’s better to ask the doctor. But most probably, it’s better for him to stay much longer as you see, if you take him back home, you’re gonna need some preparations to do; some devices and so.
Sam
It’s alright. I’m gonna ask the doctor then. It’s better taking him back home.
Sam takes Dean home, he believes it to be safer this way. And after a while, Sam sits in the hall at midnight surfing his laptop and suddenly, Dean enters the place, he’s walking slowly and he looks exhausted.
Sam
Hey....what do you think you are doing? Dean, this isn't for debate; you have to stay in bed. You can’t just get off the devices and walk in the place like that.
Dean replies as Sam leads him to the room once again.
We need to talk.
Sam
Well then, just come with me. You need to get back to your bed first.
Dean
Sam...
Sam speaks as he helps Dean sit on his bed.
Dean, we’ll talk later, I promise. I know what you wanna say but please you have to get some rest. You’re still tired. Now, lay down.
Sam starts reprogramming the medical device to reattach it to Dean hand once again. Dean’s bewilderment heightens to its peak so he wonders.
What you’re doing?
Sam replies
Simple ,attaching it to your hand again. Actually, you shouldn't have removed it in the first place.
Dean
When did you learn that?
Sam
They taught me, just before leaving the hospital with you.
Then Sam places the other medical device and connects it to Dean’s body. He spikes him with its needle in his hand then sits by his side while Dean asks.
What happened exactly between you and Crowley? What kind of a deal you had with him?
Sam hesitantly responds
I didn’t have any kind of deals with Crowley, OK. It was his fault in the first place and he felt in debt to you so he fixed it. He’s the reason you got into this mess, Dean.
Dean didn’t buy it so he comments.
Sam, I’m not in mood to argue now. So please, tell me the truth.
Sam
Dean, as you know, we always figure it out.
Dean furiously
No, that’s wrong. When I had a deal before, it ended up with me screwed in hell, do you recall?
Sam
Dean, please calm down, you’re still tired.
Dean
What did you expect? To find me thrilled that you’re going to hell? How could you make such a mistake, Sam?
Sam impulsively
Dean, I’m damn serious, you need to stop this. You can’t understand, you’re still not well. First, get yourself better then fight as much as you can if you want. Otherwise, you are wasting my deal with Crowley in vain.
Dean
What you mean?
Sam feels a bit smothered to speak. He pauses for a second then he proceeds.
You’re not well. The doctor said....you may not be able to survive it.
Dean gets confused for a while then comments.
What?! What do you mean by “won’t survive”?....hadn’t Crowley already brought me back?....doesn’t make sense.
Sam
That‘s the predicament. Crowley manipulated me into getting you back but as he did, you were not well yet. So you have to get rest till complete recovery; your wound is so deep. Please, set our quarrel aside now. Get the rest you need first till you’re better then be mad at me as you wish.
Dean
Of course, he’s Crowley, cunning is his own habit. That bastard, most probably wanted the both of us dead.
Sam
Maybe, you’re right. And maybe, it’s better not to give him what he craves for. We have to postpone all that crap till you get your strength back.
Dean asks.
Where’s Cas? And Ezekiel? And what exactly happened to Metatron?
Sam
Unfortunately, I tried to reach Cas but with no clue. I’m worried.
Dean
What if he needs help right now?
Sam
Right now, we’ve nothing we can do. We have to keep calling him till he responds. And for you, it’s better to get back to bed. Try to get some sleep. I’m getting some air and I‘ll be out if you need something.
After a while, Sam is sitting in the hall surfing the internet on his laptop and then he hears a knock on the front door so he gets anxious and holds up his gun. He gets to the door and cautiously opens it. As he did, a young man shows at the door elegantly dressed and with a self confident smile he says to Sam.
Hey
Sam stares at the man and then puts his gun back to reply the guy.
Hi
The guy asks
Is this the Winchester brothers place?
At that moment Sam’s anxiety heightens to its peak and impulsively he replies
Who are you? And who sent you here?
Instantly, the guy pushes Sam aside by his hand and crosses him as he passes to the place. As he does he starts thoroughly walking through the whole place with utter arrogance. Meanwhile Sam, infuriated by his actions, rushes up to him and shouts at him angrily while pointing the gun towards him.
Where do you think you’re going to?
The guy looks at the gun in Sam’s hand and says.
Hey, put it down, I’m not your enemy.
Then he comments about the place.
Well, I expected some kinda worn out place, actually it seems pretty good.
Sam questions
How did you know the address?
The guy turns back towards Sam and replies as he grins.
i watched you and your brother back in the hospital and then followed you to here yesterday.
Sam got more erratic by the second he heard that thus he points the gun to the man’s face as he speaks.
Why? How do you know us and what exactly do you want?
The guy stares at the gun in Sam’s hand and proceeds.
For God’s sake, when you pay a hunter a visit, you expect him to possess every kinda weapon he uses against the monsters he confronts but as a matter of fact he possesses nothing he could use against humans. I mean, why would you wanna kill a human? So please, put this thing down.
Sam disturbed puts down his gun and says as he follows the guy who’s still wandering the hall.
Where are you going? Why did you follow us?
The guy replies
By the way, you have to be more cautious. Following you was an incredibly easy task. Where is your brother anyway?
Sam infuriated
We can keep doing this all the day, so what the hell are you doing here?
The guy finds a seat and then proceeds.
May I have a seat at least? I came from a very far place. Bring a drink please and let’s have some kind of a chitchat
Sam gets nervously aroused by the guy’s indifference.
What??
The guy proceeds as he’s sitting comfortably on the chair.
I’m not telling you my name before bringing me a cup of coffee. I know I’m provoking, I can keep doing that till morning if you wish and believe me you won’t tolerate it. So, it’s better for you to start preparing me the coffee to have a little chitchat.
After a while.....Sam prepared two cups of coffee. He enters the hall and he’s standing furiously in front of the guy then he places his cup in front of him and has a seat. Then Sam says.
You seem comfortable.
The guy replies
Oh, yeah....pretty much....don’t worry....feels like home.
Sam
I’m not worried. I don’t care.
The guy
Your wish...my home is as a matter of fact so much better than here. I’m just doing my best to adapt.
Sam
Yeah, it’s clear you’re a hunter. But the question is who are you and what do you want?
The guy replies and starts to look more serious.
My name is “Frank” and I’m a hunter. I’ve been looking for you and your brother for five months. And what a coincidence, it happened that I caught your glance yesterday at the hospital and so I followed the both of you and knew the place.
Sam
why do you look for us?
Frank
Listen, I’m a rich man. I was a former hunter, I had been working as such for a pretty much time. But after a period of time, I began realizing that the number of monsters heightened and never lessened as time passed. So, I’ve come to believe that what I’m really doing is just a waste of time, risking my life fighting those freaks while you and your brother, on the other hand, are so damn busy repeatedly setting more and more monsters free.
Sam
It’s not my first time to hear that. Maybe, it’s better to get to the point.
Frank
I built an encampment underneath the ground. A training one. It’s of a good area and has a lot of hunters and trainers as well.
Sam angrily
You did what?
Frank
Yeah, it’s a surprise. For the first time, an encampment for hunting. But Sam are you seeing the situation well? It’s getting worse and as sure as hell we’re gonna need more hunters on the plain.
Sam
And who the hell are you training? The orphans? Is that it?
Frank
No, anyone applies to join the encampment through a hunter I know, gets the approval right away. I’m in bad need for a great number of hunters so I was obliged to accept whoever offers himself as a new candidate. And now I’ve a great number of trainers and what remains is to find the proper hunters to offer the training required.
Sam
And from all the other hunters on the planet you chose me and my brother to carry out that task. Is that it?
Frank
Yes.
Sam taunts him
Excuse me, but have you ever learned about us?
Frank
Of course, damn well, I might add.
Sam
If you know us as you claimed, you would have already known that what you’re talking about could simply make you our first target.
Frank
What?
Sam
Neither me nor my brother could accept the idea of a secret encampment like the one you’re talking about.
Frank
And why then? We’re in a bad need of a great army right now. We don’t know what’s coming next.
Sam
And we also don’t wanna those phenomena to last forever. I’m getting on shutting the gates of hell once again. There’s no need to recruit more people and that kinda encampment will only serve to recruit hostiles and nothing more.
Frank
Pardon me, are you gonna close the gates of hell? Sam, no offense, but why do you think that we have to trust the deeds of only one man or even two? Do you think that the world is only yours and your brother’s? Do you really think that you and your bug brother are the only one allowed to make the decision while we are supposed just to sit with our thumbs in our asses watch the Winchesters save the world?
Sam
I mean...
Frank abruptly interrupts Sam and says sharply
Doesn’t matter....listen to me....the world is not only yours to decide its own fate as you wish.....we have a great role to play whatever it suits you or not...and we’re carrying on...
Sam
Does it make us adversaries now or something?
Frank
No, we’re not...all I’m saying is that if you and your brother wanted to join us, fine. And if you don’t, well as you like but keep in mind that we’re gonna fight for what we believe in and we’re not gonna stop.
Sam
And if we refused your offer to join you...does that mean that you’ll tell about.....
Frank interrupts
About your secret place? Don’t be ridiculous, that the whole problem with you Winchesters, you think that you’re the “good guys”. I’m telling no one about that place of yours, I promise. The difference between us is that I could tell the difference between a friend and a foe.
Sam
Oh, actually it’s brand new for me...
Frank
Because, you classify people as either enemies or friends that never disapprove an idea or a point of view that you ever have. Look, think about it and don’t rush. We’re still offering it. And right now something else I wanna tell about...
Sam
And what is it?
Frank
In this city some phenomena began striking. And I know no hunter nearby except for you. Are you on hold or something nowadays?
Sam
No..it’s just my brother, he’s tired and I need to watch out for him. I’m in no mood to get on any cases soon.
Frank
I understand but listen...a great number of hunters are busy applying to my encampment and the others are either away from reach or distracted by other tasks so it’s on you and me now and I’ve already spared myself for this case.
Sam
Wait a second, you want to accompany me on a case?
Frank
Damn right. If it weren’t us then who? I’m telling you something nasty is going on in this city.
Sam
Yeah, well I know, but the thing is my brother, he’s still in bad need for utter care so I can’t just leave him behind.
Frank
We won’t be late. You’ll get back to him just as soon as we finish this. What about having some coffee once again as I read you the contents of our new mission and then it’s up to you. Just take a look.
In Dean’s room, Sam is trying to wake him up.
Dean, hey, Can you hear me?
Dean gradually wakes up
Ah...
Sam
Wake up...
Dean
What? Sam?
Sam
How you’re doing?
Dean hardly tries to sit up on the bed.
Ah....
Sam
No...no...just don’t move.
Dean annoyed
How long till I finally get free of these?
Sam
Not for so long, I promise. Maybe, a day or two. I have to go out urgently, are you gonna be okay alone?
Dean
Go out? Where?
Sam
Something important I’ve to deal with.
Dean
A case? You’re leaving for a case now? Don’t you see my condition, I can’t go anywhere.
Sam
I’m going with another hunter, don’t worry, I’ll be right back and I’ll be fine.
Dean
Another hunter? Let’s be more specific!!
Sam
A hunter you don’t know. Some nasty things have been happening in this city. Don’t worry, I’ll be back soon but I have to make sure you’re gonna be alright, and that’s all. So please, under no circumstances, don’t you leave your bed.
Dean
Sam, don’t go, I don’t feel like letting you go on a case alone with an unknown hunter.
Sam
Just get some sleep now. It’s just a little case. Don’t worry, I’ll be back quick.
A few hours later, in the morgue where both Sam and Frank are just about to enter the place to examine three corpses and as they do, one of the doctors in the place gets one of the three dead bodies out and he says.
The doctor
I’ve never seen something like that in my whole life before. We prepared a private room for each corpse because of the giant size.
Sam lays an eye on the corpse in front of him and it belonged to a very big man. But the thing is, he looks half human, half animal!
What is that?? He looks way too much bigger than what he looked like in the photo!
Frank asks the doctor
Cause of death?
The doctor answers as he points to the corpse.
Look, over there, these wounds. They killed one another.
Sam
Just like that!!
The doctor
Actually, yeah, typically like animals. It’s my first time to come across something that strange.
Sam and Frank leave the morgue to head towards the car when Sam says.
So what do think? We have three corpses; and each is half human, half animal.
Frank
Given the names, they’re college mates. So, we’ve to go there to check out.
Sam takes a look at the papers in his hands and then hints.
Let us go see the house of any of them first. How about Jim? According to these, he was the oldest.
Later on, in Jim’s home which looked so luxurious. Sam and Frank sit in front of the dead man’s widow and she’s a beautiful woman in her twenties and utterly elegant.
The woman
Jim, my husband, we married so young and despite of that we, somehow, shared a weak bond. He always was insane.
Sam
What do you think happened to him?
The window
Well, he had always been fond of magic and hoodoo. But I never anticipated him getting that far anyway.
Frank
So you’re suggesting he got himself exposed to some kinda magic or something?
The widow
My husband turned into half an animal. If it wasn’t some kind of a nightmare then yeah totally magic.
Sam
Ma’am, do you have any idea from where did he get that magic he used? A book a used or something?
The widow
That professor, what was his name? I think Martiz....I can’t remember his name exactly but I do recall how Jim used to talk about him frequently. He used to tell that the man was going to take him into some sorta land of sorcery or something.
Frank
A land of sorcery? And his husband...did he buy it?
The widow
Completely...I know it’s kinda crazy but eventually seems like he was right. There’s some land for sorcery otherwise how could he get turned into something like that.
Frank grins and says.
Actually, insanity is believing those kinds of crap. There’s no such thing as land of sorcery.
The widow surprised.
So what do you think happened to him then?
Frank
Ma’am, it’s crystal clear, someone kidnapped him and cut off those parts of his body he later on replaced by the other animal half.
Sam looks shocked to Frank while the widow says.
What?? Didn’t ever think about it. But seems pretty much rational.
Frank
Of course, it is. Ma’am, we come across those freaky things and even worse leading this job of ours. Everything has a sensible reason but there’s no such thing as magic, it’s hilarious.
The widow
Well then, so much better. Which means that Jim was totally a dick which makes it easier not to mourn his death.
Outside the victim’s house, as Sam and Frank head back towards the car to leave. Sam wonders.
There’s no such thing as magic? Really?
Frank grins as he replies
What?! Are we not allowed to have some fun?
Sam gets in the Impala and says.
Getting fun?! The chick’s just lost her freaking husband.
Frank gets in the car too and sits by Sam ’s side in the right seat and says.
That nutty chick didn’t love the man. She married him just for money. She figured out his insanity and knew that sooner or later he was gonna die and then the money would be hers and win win, I proved her right.
Sam starts driving the car and says.
Let’s head to the college now. The professor she told us about is definitely linked to it all.
After a while, at the college, Frank and Sam are in the professor’s office and he’s an old bad-tempered man flipping the pages of the books in front of him as he shouts out.
What?? No, I’m just an academic professor and of course I know nothing about the magic crap you’re talking about.
Sam
But Jim, before his death, did mention that you taught him magic.
The professor
I’m utterly sorry, busy right now, I’ve a lecture to attend and I’ve to leave.
Frank
Sir, we’re FBI agents, if it happened and you weaseled your way out of this now, frankly, we’re gonna have to be obliged to condemn you to attend an official meeting in the police office and believe me, it won’t be that pleasant. So please, spare yourself all of that crap and tell what exactly do you know and in return we would spare you from any responsibility.
The professor
And how is that literally possible anyway? I happened to kill three of my students.
Sam
Then tell us all about it to prevent the death of the rest.
The professor
No..no...don’t worry, no one will get hurt anymore. It was a dumb idea anyhow.
Frank
And what exactly was that dumb idea?
The professor
Well, it’s that ancient book. A week ago, I found it on my desk. Had no idea how it ended up here but it was ancient like really ancient...and when I held it up, I mysteriously found myself capable of reading it despite of its weird old language it was written in. I sensed its magical vibe somehow, it was like calling out for me or something and I decided to try what was in it.
Sam angrily
Try it? On your students?
The professor
No...never...the three already came to me...they had that kinda obsession and interest in magic. And the three of them happened to find the same one book I had found.
Frank
And what happened next?
The professor
We camped at night somewhere in the woods. And there we started the rituals.....abruptly, that strange white bright light struck in, like a door open.
Frank
And then?
The professor
We returned back and nothing happened. On the following day, I heard that the three of them mysteriously dropped dead.
Sam
You still keeping that book?
The professor replies as he points his finger at his desk.
It’s in my store...but I no longer open it...I’m terrified as hell and I can’t understand what exactly happened.
Sam
We need that book.
Somewhere else, at home, in Dean’s room, Dean is looking around the place so bored and then takes a look at the device connected to his hand and for a fraction of a second, he considers breaking free from the needle stuck to his hand when all of a sudden Cas shows up in the place.....Dean gets surprised and then asks.
Cas?? You’re alive??
Cas looks to Dean with a grin and comments back.
Same to you.
Dean makes a slight move while still in bed to incline a little bit up.
Where the hell have you been, man? Sam ’s been trying to contact you for a long time.
Cas gets closer and replies
Couldn’t respond back. I’ve just restored my grace yesterday.
Dean
We were worried about you, dude....you actually thought you might be dead....where’s Ezekiel?
Cas
He couldn’t make it....he’s dead.
Dean
Better...couldn’t stand that man anyway.
Cas
Dean, that man you’re referring to helped us...if it hadn’t been for him, I would have been dead by now.
Dean
So, I presume, you dealt with Metatron.
Cas sits at the edge of the bed and replies Dean.
Yeah, he’s of no danger now, but he told me that he killed you. I thought you were dead, till it happened and I got my grace back and been able to track your presence and find about your being alive. And up till now, I can’t believe it.
Dean
I died indeed. But Sam made a deal with Crowley. And as you can see, he restored back half a man.
Cas
Expected...but we’re gonna figure him a way out of that deal, don’t worry....where is he anyway?
Dean
He’s on a case with some hunter I’ve no idea who he might be....I’m worried but he didn’t listen....look, I’m fine now but that nurse forbids me to move from my place. That’s why Sam ’s left him here, stuck with me, in the first place.
Cas says as he stands up.
Maybe, it’s a good idea not to leave till you recover back. I’ll fetch him back then.
Dean
Well, wait a minute, you can help me here a little bit and we can go together. What do you think?
Cas gets closer to Dean to try and repair what’s left from his wounds but he stops. Unfortunately, he has no clue how to cure those wounds so he says while overwhelmed in his bewilderment.
I can’t
Dean questions
What’s the matter?
Cas
Don’t know, something’s wrong. But I can’t figure it out.
Dean
You can’t heal me, is that it? I’ve no idea what exactly Crowley’s done to me but I feel it, something is weird with me.
Cas surprised
Strange, I totally restored my power, I should have been able to heal you.
Dean
Don’t panic. Just go find Sam. I’m not alone here; that freaking nurse is getting back at any minute.
Cas
Well then, I’m gonna find him, help him and then get him back.
Dean tells Cas before he vanishes into thin air.
Yeah, get both your asses back safe. Then tell me exactly what happened up there with Metatron.
Outside the professor’s office....Frank and Sam walk the street in the college and Sam is holding in hand the ancient book the guy gave him then says to Frank.
This book mentions some spells that can be used to open a door for the land of magic in which a lot of monsters and creepy beings do exist. Do you think that such a land exists?
Frank
Most probably, yeah, I do. And no doubt they were transformed into those freaks just after opening that portal.
Sam
So why the professor wasn’t transformed into one himself?
Frank
No clue.
Sam
And the most intriguing question is....who put it on the professor’s desk in the first place?
Frank
Sam, definitely, that book does have some kinda spell to slam that door to that creepy land. That’s what matters now.
Sam
This needs a hell of a research to find. Let’s have a seat. Listen, I’m gonna read the book and find a way to close that door.
Frank
Well, have a seat for yourself and I...I’ll get us something to eat first. We’ve been working since morning and we need it.
Sam
So, I’ll wait here.
Frank goes to get some food while Sam starts going through the book impatiently. Then desperately, he mutters to himself.
Cas, I need you, man. If only you were here right now....you would help me a little bit. Where the hell are you, dude? If you’re listening right now, I beg you....
At that moment, Cas abruptly shows up in the place just in front of Sam who freaks out for a fraction of a second that he stands up and the book slips down of his hand to the ground.
Cas...man you’re alive?
Cas replies
Yeah, sorry for being late in telling you so...I got my grace back just yesterday.
Sam joyfully hugs Cas and then comments back.
I thought you’re dead. It’s good to see you, man. Where’s Ezekiel? What happened to Metatron?
Cas sadly replies.
Ezekiel is dead. He couldn’t make it.
Sam furiously.
Metatron, isn’t he? He killed him?
Cas
Actually, no...I’m gonna explain it all to you later. What’s important now is that Metatron is imprisoned. I went to see Dean before getting to you here and he’s the one who told me to find you.
Sam
Oh, yeah, well that you checked on him too. And of course, we’ll discuss it later as we get back home. But right now, I’m working a case with a hunter. Maybe, you can help.
At that moment, Frank returns back after grabbing some food and he sees Cas and keeps staring at him then says.
Who’s that?
Sam, Frank and Cas, the three sit on a bench in the college and Cas is holding the book to take a brief look at it.
It’s neither ancient nor treasury. Non sense.
Frank
What do you mean by “non sense”? That book turned three guys into monsters.
Cas
This book is recently written and it’s not ancient. Apparently, the one made this just wanted to deceive those guys to get them killed.
Sam
Cas, we saw the corpses. If that book isn’t opening some kinda portal or something to a land of sorcery then what the hell happened to turn them into half human, half animal things?
Cas
I’m not telling that it’s no magical book. I’m just saying that it’s a fake book not an ancient one. Someone placed it in their ways to read it and then turn into monsters by the magic it holds.
Frank
And who could do that? The professor?
Sam
He’s the only one to survive. Maybe, he’s the one who made that book in the first place and then gave it to us to fool us.
Cas
Yeah, most probably what’s written in here presumed to close or open some kinda gate, is nothing but some magical rituals that turn whoever read them into half animal.
Sam
So that man deceived us. If it happened and we read those rituals, we also were gonna turn into half animals too.
Frank
Maybe, he thought that by this way he could keep us away forever after we told him that we’re FBI agents.
Sam
But why? Who the hell is he and what benefit gets from killing those three young men anyhow?
Cas
I don’t know. But I’ll get some answers. I’ll be right back.
Cas vanishes all of a sudden meanwhile Sam says.
Cas, wait....he’s gone.
Frank
Much better...didn’t like the guy anyway. Now, hurry up before that freaky professor slip out.
After a while....in the professor’s office....Sam and Frank enter the place but find no one. They start thoroughly searching the whole place for him when Sam says.
Not here. He’s fled.
Frank
Sam, he’s just an ordinary professor. Maybe, we’re just messing with the wrong person.
Sam
But Cas said that that man....
Frank interrupts
That crappy angel of yours...most probably, he’s wrong.
Sam
Frank, if we’d read those rituals in that book, we’d have tuned too into half animals too, if it wasn’t for Cas who came on the convenient time and warned us. But if you’d like, give it a try then.
Frank
I’ll tell you what I’m really gonna try.....I’m finding a spell to turn us into angels....so we no longer need yours.
Sam starts looking through the office desk wishing to find something of interest that could help. He keeps digging through books everywhere and says.
Take a look...there are three books utterly identical to the one we have. That man is really the one spreading them.
Frank gets closer to see the books and holds one of them then sarcastically comments.
And why is that? he’s so bent on ganging his students or something?
Sam raises one of the books and it stuns him badly to see traces of sulfur underneath it so he cries out.
Look at this. How did it skip us?
Frank gets closer and asks.
What?...sulfur....he’s a demon.
Sam
Yeah right, hell of one. He turns young guys into freaks then causes their deaths.
At that moment, the professor shows up in the place and says.
Not their deaths...they were supposed to be my army....but the idiots savagely killed one another.
Sam and Frank keep looking at the professor who creepily showed up in the place and locked the door behind. Sam says.
And why to form an army?
The professor
A copy of the book fell into my hands. Yeah, I know, it’s new and not old and hell not treasury or something but what’s within, it really works...I mean I do realize that he’s not the book of such experienced witch and I don’t even know who placed it in my way. One day I happen to get into my office and yeah, it was right here, on the desk. Imagine, all of those copies and the opportunity presented itself and I had to make a decision between staying as such just an ordinary demon as I was or be the one demon who dares form a whole great army for himself and I made it.
Frank
So you made the decision to make an army of half animals?
The professor
I had no other option. This book contains spells that can turn whoever reads them into half animal. It was awesome, till those stupid students slayed one another. What you want me to say? After all, they were just animals, they killed to survive.
At that moment, Sam gets out his special demon-killing knife so the professor telekinetic-ally pushes him against the wall and says.
You’re planning on using this one me, is that it? I’m no ordinary demon, Sam.
Frank keeps looking at Sam who then falls to the ground after being stuck to the wall for a while and then the former rushes to him and says.
Are you okay?
Sam replies the demon as he keeps looking at the knife that dropped away from his reach.
Ah, Frank...the knife...
The professor gets closer, holds up the knife then says.
You can’t do anything using this piece of crap, I’ve told you, I’m not as ordinary as you might think. But instead, I can read upon you some spells that can turn you into....
At that moment, Cas shows up in the place just behind the professor....he holds his head and instantly gets him killed.
Sam stands up once again and says.
Let’s take those books and get the hell outta here before anybody comes.
Outside the college.....Sam, Frank and Cas are in front of the car....burning the books they have just gathered...Sam says.
Who the hell gave these books to the demon?
Frank
Guess we won’t know any time soon. Unless, we come across about such kinda case once again.
Cas
But what you did was quite right. That man was gonna keep trying and corrupting things up.
Frank
Well then, it’s been a pleasure working with you both. Sam, drop me somewhere near and get back home, your brother needs you. If you need me at any time, just ask.
Sam
Yeah, sure. Now, let’s leave. Cas get in with us, no need for you to soar away.
After some time passed, Cas and Sam get back home....in Dean’s room when Sam begins removing the devices Dean’s connected to. Sam and Cas sit by his side when Sam says.
So Ezekiel is dead. Meanwhile, Metatron is still alive and kicking.
Cas comments back
Yeah, but he’s in prison with nothing in handy to do.
Dean
Cas, that son of a bitch must die, otherwise he’s finding some other way back to his transgressions.
Cas
Maybe, you’re right. But right now, I can do nothing about it.
Dean
Elaborate.
Cas
Right now, things are going on differently in heaven. New laws are set in. I’m in no position to take such decisions.
Sam
What?? So, you’re telling that things are back now to how they were before the freaking apocalypse? Is that it?
Cas
Exactly, right now, compared to me, other angels are of higher rank.
Sam
Does it mean that we won’t be able to contact you anymore or what?
Cas
I can’t tell for sure right now. I’ve to wait for some time. I’m leaving if you want me, just ask. And work on ridding of Crowley’s deal. And if you face any kinda problems, I’m gonna help.
Dean
And you get back to keep an eye on things up there.
Cas leaves, Sam stands up and tells Dean.
Are you ready to get off your bed?
Dean
You’re kidding me? I feel like I’ve almost spent a whole year stuck in here.
Sam tries to support Dean up.
Come on, I’ll help you. You’ve passed the danger stage but that doesn’t mean you’re allowed back to your accustomed daily activity. First, you’ve to re-adapt on walking only in the place. Then when you get better, you’re free to get out.
Dean says as he’s leaning on Sam.
Shut up. Stop this crap, I’m fine. I won’t be fine till I finally kill Crowley. Where do you keep the blade? I think it’s time to use it on that bastard.
Sam replies
Don’t know. Where you got hurt, I took you and got you out of the place. I didn’t pay attention to taking it with me.
Dean stunned
You left it??
Sam
Dean, you were dead, what do you expect? of course I didn’t give a damn about the crappy blade.
Dean
We must find it.
Sam
We will. But you said it turns you into something bad.
Dean
Yeah, you’re damn right, I did. I didn’t need it either. But you happened to sign a contract with Crowley. So we need it. Maybe, I won’t have to use it, if we found some other way to kill him off.
Sam still supporting Dean to walk in the room when suddenly Dean stops by the room door so Sam says.
We’re gonna find some other way to kill Crowley. What’s up? Something wrong?
Dean answers.
Don’t know. I can’t get any far.
Sam says as he holds Dean back to his bed.
Well, it’s okay. I’ll get you back to bed. Maybe, you just need some rest yet.
Dean isn’t moving from his place and he says.
No Sam. I can’t move.
Sam
Hey, what’s wrong? Something hurts?
Dean disturbed
I’ve no idea. Nothing hurts exactly. I just can’t move.
Sam says as he’s supporting Dean even more.
Well, just hold on.
Dean crying out.
No...no...Sam...I can’t.
Sam confused.
What’s wrong with you?
Dean
I....I think....I’m stuck in here.
Sam
What??
Dean looks upward.....towards the ceiling....and he glances a devil’s trap so terrified he hints to Sam.
Sam, look.
Sam looks upward....then he gets away from Dean and cries out.
No...no....
Dean asks Sam while still utterly terrified.
What definitely was your deal with Crowley, Sam??
Sam
No no no Dean....just calm down. It’s nothing like you think.
Dean
Did you....did you sign up for this?
Sam
No, Dean. Absolutely not.
Scared, Dean yells out anxiously.
Did you even read the terms, Sam???
Distracted and confused as he is, unable to process what’s really going on, Sam replies.
Dean...
Dean
Did you read it?
Sam
No...no...
Dean sacred as he is, yells out.
I’m a demon. I’m a demon, Sam…. that’s what I am....
